Strength & Dignity

Proverbs 31:25

So it has been a rather long time since I last signed onto Tumblr and a few things have happened since…

Being a senior is crazy weird, I can’t even begin to describe it. Nevertheless, this year has also been crazy awesome. I had talked about getting my homecoming dress a few posts back, and this is how it turned out…

Mom and I got crafty and took off the teal sash that came on the dress, added the yellow, created a bow for my handbag out of the old sash, and I had to add the yellow heels. They were necessary :)

For senior night one of my best friends, Meagan, and I got tiaras. After the homecoming game we were all sad since she only had one more home game left of being drum major and I only had one more as being head sports medicine trainer so we made a pact and decided we would buy each other tiaras. SO. MUCH. FUN

(Those are my wonderfully amazing and supportive parents :) )

Other than that, the only big event that has happened is on Thursday I had my wisdom teeth extracted. Not fun, at all. I am slowly getting strength back and getting back to normal :)

Oh, one more thing! Of course I applied to colleges! The list seems to never end (Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Galveston, University of North Texas, University of Houston, Franciscian University at Steubenville, University of Dallas, Texas State University…) and I recently got my first acceptance letter! Go UNT Eagles!

Three out of four books are knocked off my summer reading list! Now on to Summer of 1787! I have read over 1,000 pages in the last month :)
But, I have still yet to start my 25 English essays, 3 government/economy essays, or my college applications. Crap on a stick and a half!

Bargain shopping!

So, today after work Mom and I went shopping for my brother’s upcoming engagement party. I had already gone shopping with his fiancé, but my parents weren’t fans of the dress I had purchased and said they would buy a dress for me if I were to get something else. I was tired of shopping at the ritzy stores I went to over the weekend, I felt like I couldn’t touch anything, so naturally Mom and I started out at TJMaxx! Not only did I find a dress that I love for the party, I also found my homecoming dress (a Calvin Klein that rung up at thirty dollars!!!) It was the exact dress that I had been searching for, so needless to say I am a happy camper!

Afterwards, I returned the dress original dress I bought and was able to put 140 dollars back in my checking account! Booya!

ubicaritas:

We all have stress and struggles in life. Oftentimes (and most times lol) they are too much to handle. In today’s Gospel, we are reminded that Jesus wants us to come to Him, and give him our burdens. He always will carry them for us.. free of charge :)

I saw this painting for the first time in the adoration chapel at Steubenville on the Bayou this summer. I had just gone to one of the best confessions of my life, and as I was kneeling in front of the Blessed Sacrament, this image caught my eye. From the hammer to the boy’s hand to the tight embrace of Christ. It’s all so real and true.
